Shannon King, secretary of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School in Coldwater, was recently awarded the Michigan Association of Non-public Schools (MANS) 2018 Faith-Based Office Professional Award.
Shannon has been the secretary at St. Charles for six years, but she has been a pivotal member of the school community since long before that. As a parent of two children who attend the school and as the prior PTO president, she has always shown her dedication and love for St. Charles School. Shannon is known to go above and beyond while doing her job, radiating positive energy and constantly helping the students. Not only is she part of the St. Charles’ staff, but she is also actively involved in the school family as a volunteer. As the one of the main chair committee members for the Mardi Gras Fundraiser, Shannon spends hours upon hours working to make sure the fundraiser is organized and successful.
Principal of St. Charles, Brenda Mescher, believes that Shannon plays a huge role in growing the number of students at the school, as she is the main contact for new parents. Shannon says she loves being a part of a Catholic school because she’s “part of a family that shares the same values and morals.” Whenever children and their families come into the office, Shannon strives to show them kindness and empathy all while infusing the Catholic faith into conversations of any kind.
Congratulations to Shannon King on receiving the Faith-Based Office Professional Award and a big thank you to her for all the loving commitment she shows to students and families at St. Charles Borromeo!
