I hope this message finds you and your families well. I want to thank you all for your patience and continued support as we collectively navigate through these uncharted waters. These certainly are trying times, but we should remember what is at the heart of our educational communities- Jesus, and let our faith help to guide us over our fear.
The Office of Schools is proud of each of our school administrators and their staff for the phenomenal job they have done in putting together various methods to continue educating students. The bright spot of challenging times is always seeing communities rally together. This is no different in our school communities; watching individuals "tune in" to Facebook live to hear their principal open the day in prayer or seeing students showing acts of mercy towards those who are most vulnerable and in need, is heartwarming. This is Catholic education. Let us continue to be a beacon of light for those who need it right now. You are reaching more than just your school communities by your acts of faith and charity.
Earlier today, Bishop Bradley released a
letter to the faithful with updates on Mass. The Diocese has also set up a page of resources,
Sunday Experience, to provide ways in which families can continue to celebrate our faith. Thank you again for all of your efforts in helping to support your student's Catholic education from home during this time. If our office can be of any assistance, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Margaret Erich
Superintendent of Schools / Diocese of Kalamazoo
