The following is a letter from Margaret Erich welcoming participation in focus groups to help guide the Office of Schools in creating a new strategic plan.
Dear Friends of the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Kalamazoo:
I am writing to inform you that we are beginning the process of creating a new Strategic Plan for our Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Kalamazoo that will guide our schools for the next three-to-five years and inviting you to be part of the process by attending a Focus Group in your area within the next few weeks.
The purpose of these groups will be to gather input from constituents in four major areas. These areas include our Catholic Identity, Academic Excellence, Governance and Institutional Vitality.
We have scheduled four sessions, one in each of the major population areas of our diocese. These include:
April 23rd at St. Joseph Elementary School in Battle Creek;
April 24th at the Rose Center located on the campus of Lake Michigan Catholic High School in St. Joseph;
April 25th at St. Margaret’s School (McGuire Room) in Otsego; and
May 1st at St. Augustine Cathedral School Gymnasium in Kalamazoo.
All focus group sessions are scheduled to last about ninety minutes, each beginning at 7:00 PM and ending about 8:30 PM. The agenda for each meeting is as follows:
Welcome and prayer;
Overview of the planning process;
Explanation of the four standards around which we are building our Strategic Plan;
Opportunity for attendees to give input on each of the four standards;
De-briefing and next steps; and
Adjournment.
We hope you will take the opportunity to join us. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me a
