Our schools understand and are aware of the sacrifice that many families make to be able to send their children to a Catholic school. There is never a clear-cut answer as to how to best afford Catholic schools as everyone's financial situation is different. But, there are different ways that may help you to alleviate some of the costs. Never assume you can not afford Catholic education!
Turn in Your Parish Envelopes! If you are a member of a Catholic parish, make sure to turn in your weekly church envelope. It is not about the amount of money you can tithe, but rather that you are in attendance. The envelope is a way for the parish to know you are attending with your family and offer you the parishioner subsidy grant.
Talk to the Principal or Priest! Principals and priests at the schools may be able to work with you to evaluate tuition costs. But, you have to talk to them! Don't be afraid to schedule a meeting with them to discuss costs if you have concerns.
Utilize Uniform Closet! Most of our schools have a uniform closet for families to turn in uniforms that are outgrown and exchange them for new ones. Uniform closets can help save you money as your student grows.
Remember Your Gifts! We all have something to offer to Catholic education. While there is a cost, it is not always all about monetary value. Many schools are willing to work with families to utilize their time or talents that they can offer the school. Talk with your principal to see if one of your other gifts can help offset a cost.
TRIP or SCRIP! Some of our schools utilize these programs to assist in reducing the cost of tuition. These programs allow you to reduce your cost of tuition or the tuition of someone else by purchasing gift cards to places you already shop. There are hundreds of places to choose from. Anyone is allowed to make a purchase of these cards. You can purchase them before your student is even in school and stock up on savings! Please contact your school of interest for details of which program they participate in.
